Simple Cycle High Temperature SCR
|
Simple Cycle SCR System for GE Fr 5.
Note cooling air manifold upstream of flow control devices, CO catalyst,
and AIG. The key to successful design and operation of these units is to
correctly model the flow within the duct, and to model the AIG with
simultaneous heat and material balances to eliminate the possibility of
ammonia cracking in the AIG. |
|
Simple Cycle SCR System for GE Fr 7
upstream of HRSG. Uncontolled exhaust temperature of these units
exceeds 1115 F, therefore cooling air is required as well as HT Zeolite
Catalyst such as Engelhard's ZnX-300. The catalyst for this unit is sized
for 44.4% conversion with 1,000 HPY of operation in bypass mode. Cross
section area of catalyst face is 1125 sq ft. |
|
Alternate Simple Cycle SCR System for GE
Fr 7 upstream of HRSG. Space saving alternative to side discharge.
Note SCR reactor sits above diverter valve allowing for upflow
configuration. Stack can be sized for multiple units adjacent to one
another. Catalyst is not exposed to rainwater, however catalyst loading and
AIG maintenance is more complex. Catalyst support structure is arranged as
a T-Bar support requiring horizontal catalyst loading. |
|
The most space efficient configuration
for high temperature simple cycle SCR. Unit is arranged similar to
above with short stack directly above catalyst. Due to catalyst sensitivity
to exposure to moisture, a raincap is necessarily part of this
configuration. This configuration is the lowest capital cost for GE Fr 7
gas turbines. |

|
Note rainhat.
If the possibility of the unit sitting idle for a long period exists, it is
advisable to install a rainhat to prevent long term exposure of the catalyst
to rain. |
